Students in grades 3-5 participated in a Reading Challenge from January to May. 📚✨ Every student who read 10 books entered a drawing to win a prize. Prizes were donated by the Cannon Falls Education Foundation and included things you might use while reading, such as a hammock, squishmallow, blanket, pillow, reading light and stress ball. Third graders recently went rock climbing at Roca Climbing and Fitness in Rochester. 🧗 A special thank you to the parent volunteers who came along and the Cannon Falls Education Foundation for funding this trip. The 6th grade STEM class has just wrapped up independent investigations in the school forest. 🧐🌲🍄 Students were conducting investigations on pond organisms, animal signs, wild edible plants, tree identification, food preferences of animals, and bird observations. Many discoveries were made by all teams, but a new find this year was the first recorded sighting of a solitary sandpiper by the pond! 🤩 #LearningInThe252

A group of K-12 students had the opportunity to attend an adapted field day at Zumbrota-Mazeppa high school this week. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ They had the chance to participate in a variety of Track & Field events (50m, 100m and 200m sprints, hurdles, long jump, throwing and kicking activities) and competed against students from multiple different schools! The book hunt is over! 👀📚 The elementary students recently finished their library book hunt that they started in February. Thirty students in grades K-5th discovered winning books while choosing books to borrow. Each winner had the chance to be the Guest Checkout Person for one day of Media class and took over running book checkout for their classmates. 🤩 #LearningInThe252
